NUTRIRE was born from the expertise of Chicago salon legend Mario Tricoci, blending decades of haircare mastery with a science-backed three-step routine. With a loyal clientele in professional salons, the brand had credibility but lacked a direct-to-consumer (DTC) presence. They needed a digital storefront that embodied their clinical-luxury positioning and introduced their high-performance products to a wider audience.

With a loyal clientele in professional salons, the brand had credibility but lacked a direct-to-consumer (DTC) presence. They needed a digital storefront that embodied their clinical-luxury positioning and introduced their high-performance products to a wider audience.

We built a fully custom Shopify store that brought NUTRIRE's premium brand identity to life. Every detail was considered—from typography to layout—to ensure a sleek, intuitive experience. To reinforce product efficacy, we integrated a before-and-after image slider, providing visual proof of results. High-quality product photography and editorial-style design further positioned NUTRIRE as a luxury brand.

Smart UX That Increases AOV and Conversion

Given the three-step system's design, we focused on maximizing average order value (AOV). A custom upsell widget, built internally at Shrimpton, encouraged customers to purchase the full regimen instead of single products. The checkout flow was optimized to minimize friction, ensuring a seamless purchase process.

We also developed a product recommendation quiz, dynamically filtering options based on customer needs. Unlike generic quizzes, each response influenced the final selection, ensuring tailored recommendations. These insights were captured in Klaviyo, allowing for personalized email marketing campaigns that nurtured long-term customer relationships.

Scalable Subscription Model

Knowing haircare relies on consistency, we implemented Shopify's first-party subscription system, making it easy for customers to stay stocked on their routine. This was the first time NUTRIRE leveraged subscriptions, ensuring they had a frictionless model to increase customer lifetime value.

The Results

The transformation was immediate. NUTRIRE successfully evolved from a wholesale-dominated brand to a thriving hybrid model, giving them greater control over branding, customer data, and sales. Key outcomes included:

  • Higher AOV through strategic bundling and upselling mechanisms.
  • Enhanced customer engagement via the interactive quiz and targeted email follow-ups.
  • Seamless subscriptions, driving long-term retention and revenue stability.
